This course is a hand-on introduction to the skills required by foreign correspondents in the international news media. You will learn through simulations of actual and theoretical news events in class and by contributing articles to a web publication, IJS-Global.com
In the ensuring weeks we will focus on how to gather and tailor news in terms of reporting, editing and presentation for different markets.
We will examine how to operate in alien environments, how to structure news coverage, how to hone interviewing techniques and address the basic practical and legal pitfalls that can trap inexperienced journalists.
You will also be introduced to basic web publishing skills.
